Best Outdoor Activities for Staying in Shape in 2017

By Rachael Rettner

You may be wondering exactly where the first half of 2017 went, but if you still need to get in shape, don’t fret — there’s still time, and the balmy days of summer provide a great opportunity for exercising.

For getting fit and staying in shape, exp

erts say there’s no single type of exercise that’s considered “the best.” The most important thing is that you like the activity you choose to do.

Here on this page, we’ve pulled together important information on some of the most common outdoor activities, as well as tips on how to stay motivated and avoid health risks while you exercise outdoors this summer.

One of the simplest ways to get fit outdoors is to take a walk; research shows that brisk walking on a regular basis can improve the health of your heart, lungs and circulatory system; reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes; and help you maintain a healthy weight. Walking is also a low-impact exercise, so it’s easy on the joints and muscles. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), just 10 minutes of brisk walking, three times a day for five days a week (for a total of 150 minutes per week) is enough to improve your aerobic health.

Like walking, running helps improve your cardiovascular fitness. If you chose to run rather than walk, you don’t need to exercise for quite as long. According to the most recent physical activity guidelines from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), adults can do 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, such as running, to get the same benefits as 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity.

Swimming is another good way to improve your aerobic fitness, and it offers health benefits similar to those of walking and running. What’s more, because swimming is easy on your muscles and joints, you may be able to exercise for longer in the water than you could on land without increased muscle or joint pain, according to the CDC. Swimming may be particularly good for older adults, as it may help strengthen core muscles and reduce the risk of falls, one study found. In addition, swimming may help people with arthritis increase the use of their joints without worsening their symptoms, the CDC says.

Hiking not only gives you an aerobic workout, but it may also be good for your mental health; a number of studies suggest that spending time in nature reduces stress levels and negative thinking. What’s more, if you don’t have time to work out during the week, a long hike or two on the weekend may offer health benefits similar to those seen in people who exercise more frequently, according to a recent study.

Cycling is another low-impact exercise that provides health benefits but is easy on your muscles and joints. And studies suggest that even a little biking can help people avoid weight gain. Although men may have concerns about how cycling could affect their fertility or sexual function, a recent study found no link between cycling and infertility or erectile dysfunction. Biking may even be good for your mental health, with some studies finding that cycling to work is linked with better well-being than driving to work.

How to get Six Pack Abs?

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach…and the way to a man’s abs is through the kitchen. Not all carbs are evil. It’s the simple, white carbs that you want to avoid. Whole grains (aka “slow carbs”) are rich in fiber and go through your system much more slowly (hence the name) than simple, refined carbs (the white ones). So don’t shy away from the browns -brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat and oats.

Getting six pack abs isn’t necessarily about counting calories. But you do need to get rid of the fat on top of your abs to expose the muscles underneath them — and eating a bit less will get you on track. Eating any breakfast was associated with increased feelings of fullness, a reduced desire to eat, and lower levels of ghrelin (a hunger-stimulating hormone) throughout the morning. But a protein-packed breakfast was associated with these benefits over the course of the entire day.

Exercise your core muscles. Once the fat on top of your abs is gone, you’ll need washboard abs to be underneath. In the comfort of your home, you can exercise your core muscles — it helps posture, too!

Here is a 10 minute video on how to workout those abs at home!

Be your best

Do not look outside for comforts or reassurances that you want. Be the person you hope to have in your life and everything will follow.Be the successful, loyal, ambitious, generous, kind, loving person you hope to find . Find comfort in being your own company and being your best friend. Love yourself and love others without any intention of being rewarded.Only when you have found all you need in yourself, you can provide the love to others.

Be the person you admire the most.Do not easily accept people’s beliefs, but listen to them. Never change for anyone, but strive to be the best you can be. And even when it is hard to believe people can be good, be good.

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Bones is a 2002 novel by Alice Sebold. It is the story of a teenage girl who, after being raped and murdered, watches from her personal Heaven as her family and friends struggle to move on with their lives while she comes to terms with her own death.

On December 6, 1973, 14-year-old Susie Salmon takes her usual shortcut home from her school through a cornfield in Norristown, Pennsylvania. George Harvey, her 36-year-old neighbor who lives alone and builds doll houses for a living, persuades her to have a look at an underground den he has recently dug in the field. Once she enters, he rapes and murders her, then dismembers her body, putting her remains in a safe that he dumps in a sinkhole. Susie’s spirit flees toward her personal heaven, and in doing so, rushes past one of her classmates, social outcast Ruth Connors.

The Salmon family at first refuses to believe that Susie is dead, until a neighbor’s dog finds Susie’s elbow. The police talk to Harvey, finding him strange but seeing no reason to suspect him. Susie’s father, Jack, begins to suspect Harvey, a sentiment his surviving daughter Lindsey comes to share. Jack takes an extended leave from work. Meanwhile, another of Susie’s classmates, Ray Singh, who had a crush on Susie in school and had made plans to go out with her a few days before her murder, develops a relationship with Ruth, as they are drawn together by their connection with Susie. The novel portrays heaven as a very personal thing; each dead person existing in their own individualized version of heaven, sometimes sharing similar elements with other individuals, but not able to follow into the dissimilar areas of another person’s heaven. Because Susie’s character is narrating the story from her own personal heaven, there are some questions over the depiction of the afterlife.

You change the environment, not the flower

Sometimes you love at a level people can’t even comprehend and behind a great love story, there’s an individual finding himself or herself. And as you never stop learning about people, you never stop learning about yourself. There’s sacrifice that comes with love and love always starts with you.

I love this quote that says that “In life you’ll realize that there’s a purpose for every person you meet. Some are there to test you… Some will use you… Some will teach you and some will bring out the best in you”. Most people that come into your life are a reflection of you, of what you’ve done, will do, of what you are willing to. Some people will make you question your character, they will make offers you “cannot refuse”. Others will be there to find your vulnerability and manipulate it to their liking.Remember even your weaknesses can turn into strengths. Be strong and courageous to be who you are, just be resilient and persevere.

My favorite people are those who are here to teach me. Not to necessarily impose their opinions on me, but for me to expand my horizons, see the world in different eyes. Even people that do not share your beliefs can teach you things. To be open minded is to accept there is more than to this life than what you see, what you hear, what you learn. Even the most ludicrous idea should be analyzed. My other favorite type of people are those that either bring the worst out of me or the best out of me.

Why the worst? We all have triggers; things that have an unexpected effect on us. We do have control of our emotions, remember that. And to learn this you may have to have an encounter with a situation that completely gets you out of control. You don’t necessarily start avoiding life ,you can’t dodge what it throws at you, but you can decide who the person is that you want to be.

The people that bring out the best in you make you remember your humanity. They remind you, that you must do good to receive any good. They remember how much you have grown as a person and how you can work on becoming even better. Try to always be your best version.

Life is precious

Mind racing,I keep replacing my thoughts of you with my daily needs.I can no longer remember of a time i sit to ponder why the matters of the heart never really work out  when it seems it is meant to be.In my youth, I intend to be great.I will exceed the goals and expectations I have set up for myself. And I will never forget to love – to love me. I will never forget that life can turn upside down in a matter of less than a second.

And for that life is precious. As soon as a moment is gone, you can’t take it back.It is both a blessing and a curse. You live and let go as you keep on going.
